New painting: ‘The Forest I Remember’
This is from a series of recent small scale paintings. Small in size, big in energy!
The trees in this forest are simple long narrow shapes, that from this distance resemble strange beings far more than they do trees. But no matter, this is the forest I remember.
Up close everything looks quite different. That old expression 'you can't see the forest for the trees' comes to mind when I remember my old forest, and how I tried to see it while right in the midst of it.
Those trees used to tower over me back then, but from my new vantage point, they look kind of small and skinny. Now that I'm a bit further away from the old forest, I have a new view.
Things look different to me at the moment, with the distance that only time gives. My perspective has changed, the old forest has something new to show me.
